The Carolina Hurricanes lost in last season’s Eastern Conference final to Florida; the Panthers, in turn, lost the Stanley Cup final to the Vegas Golden Knights. But Las Vegas – as a font of wagering propositions – likes Carolina to win the Stanley Cup this time around.
Circa Sports, the Las Vegas bookmaker with an imposing presence in Downtown Vegas, has listed Carolina as the favorite to win this season’s NHL championship. Circa is not slated to be live at the outset of North Carolina sports betting, but has apps in Colorado, Illinois and Iowa.
The 2023-24 NHL regular season began Tuesday, with three games, and with defending champ Vegas winning its home opener against Seattle. Carolina is scheduled to open its season at home tonight, Oct. 11, against Ottawa.
Circa Sports lists the current favorites to win the Stanley Cup as: Carolina (+775), Edmonton (+825), Colorado (+850), Vegas (+975) and the New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils, both +1075.
