Miles Bridges Free Agent Destinations: Where Will The Hornets Forward Sign?

Miles Bridges Free Agent Destinations: Where Will The Hornets Forward Sign?
Fact Checked by Nate Hamilton

One of the most enigmatic stars in today’s NBA is officially an unrestricted free agent for the first time this offseason, as Charlotte Hornets 26-year-old small forward, Miles Bridges hits the market once the league year ends this summer.

Bridges has averaged 21 points per game and has amassed 18.2 win shares and a player efficiency rating of 15.0 in his 360-game NBA career, which has been overshadowed at times by various run-ins with the law, including charges (that were later dropped) of domestic abuse and missed the entirety of the 2022-23 NBA season after being accused of assaulting the mother of his children.

Now that Adam Silver has decided to allow the sixth-year forward out of Michigan State to play full-time, it’s worth wondering where Bridges will go next, once the league’s UFA window opens at season’s end.

With that in mind, BetCarolina.com used our North Carolina sports betting mindset and broke down some hypothetical odds on which franchise could land Bridges’ services next, with the hometown Hornets holding overwhelming odds to keep the 26-year-old in the Queen City long term.

Where Will Miles Bridges Play Next?

Right now, it seems like Charlotte is the dominant favorite to keep the 6’7 Flint native in town, with the Charlotte Hornets listed at -125 to sign Bridges this offseason, beating out the hometown Detroit Pistons (+500), as well as the Philadelphia 76ers and Dallas Mavericks, who are both listed at +1500.

Throw in longshots like the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies at +2000 and you have the full rundown on the NBA teams that could land Bridges this offseason, potentially winding up with a player who’s shown brilliant talent when he can stay on the court and out of the courtroom.

Whichever team does land Bridges this offseason will likely have to pay the veteran forward a lot more than the $7.9 million he earned during the final year of his 4 year, $16.3 million rookie salary, though we’ll know a lot more about the sixth year forward’s future once the NBA’s free agency period begins at the end of June.
