UNC finished the season ranked No. 5 in the country with an overall record of 27-7, the best in the ACC. The Tar Heels stumbled at the end of the ACC Tournament, losing to the 10th-ranked NC State Wolfpack.
Nevertheless, UNC got one of the four coveted No. 1 seeds in the March Madness bracket before losing to Alabama in the Sweet 16.
North Carolina's basketball roster went through significant changes in the offseason, with only four scholarship players from last year still on the team.
Guard RJ Davis leads the team in scoring with 21.3 points per game and a 41.1% three-point percentage. Forward Armando Bacot is a walking double-double, averaging 14.4 PPG and 10.2 rebounds per game. Bacot has a 40% three-point percentage this season, to boot.
Sophomore guard Seth Trimble and sophomore forward Jalen Washington rounded out the returning UNC veterans.
