Football is back in Carolina, but Panthers fans won’t be able to attend training camp this year. Due to ongoing construction at Bank of America Stadium, practices are closed to the public for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. Rookies report on July 21, with veterans arriving on July 22.

Even without fans in the stands, this camp carries weight. The Panthers are under the spotlight heading into a make-or-break year, and these next few weeks will help shape the roster and the Panthers’ playoff chances this fall.

Below are some of the noteworthy Panthers training camp dates for 2025.

Players to Watch During Panthers Training Camp

As the Panthers continue their rebuild and push to be more competitive in 2025, a few key names will be front and center during camp. With a young quarterback, a highly touted rookie receiver, and a major defensive piece returning from injury, there’s plenty to keep an eye on.

Quarterback Bryce Young is looking to take a step forward after an up-and-down 2024, while rookie receiver Tetairoa McMillan enters camp carrying the expectations that come with being a top draft pick. On defense, Derrick Brown’s return could be a game-changer if he’s back to form after missing most of last season. How these three perform in camp could say a lot about where the Panthers are headed in 2025.

Bryce Young

Every young quarterback enters training camp under the microscope, and that’s especially true in Carolina. Bryce Young showed flashes of growth late in his second season, but now he needs to take another step. His development under Dave Canales, back for his second year as head coach, and how quickly he connects with rookie McMillan could set the tone for the offense. With veteran Andy Dalton still in the room, Young has a steady presence to lean on as he continues to grow into the leader of this team.

Tetairoa McMillan

Outside of the quarterbacks, Tetairoa McMillan might be one of the most-watched rookies in the league this summer. Carolina selected the wide receiver in the first round with hopes of adding a true playmaker, and he’s got the tools to deliver. At 6-foot-4 with strong hands and clean routes, the focus in camp will be on how quickly he adjusts to the pro level, how he fits alongside veteran receivers, and whether he and Young can start building the connection the offense needs.

Derrick Brown

Defensive end Derrick Brown missed nearly all of last season with a knee injury, and his absence was felt. The Panthers’ defense gave up more points than any team in NFL history and was one of the league’s worst against the run. Before going down, Brown had been a force up front, and his return could be exactly what this defense needs to turn the corner. Training camp will be the first real look at where he is physically and whether he’s ready to anchor a reworked defensive line trying to reset in 2025.

How to Attend Panthers Training Camp

Location

With upgrades still underway at Bank of America Stadium, fans won’t be able to attend Panthers training camp practices this year. But there are still ways to get in on the action. Fan Fest takes place August 2, and Carolina will host both the first and final preseason games at home. The Panthers will also hold joint practices with the Browns in Charlotte and the Texans in Houston, though the former will not be open to the public.

Tickets

While training camp practices are closed to fans, tickets are available for Fan Fest and both home preseason games at Bank of America Stadium. Fan Fest tickets are just $5, with all proceeds going to charity, and can be purchased online. Preseason tickets are also available through the Panthers’ official site.

Carolina Panthers Preseason Schedule for 2025

The Panthers’ preseason opens at home against the Browns on August 8, following a joint practice earlier that week. Carolina will then head to Houston for another joint session and preseason game with the Texans on August 16. The team wraps up the preseason at home against the Steelers on August 21, before opening the regular season on the road in Jacksonville on September 7.

It’s a stretch that could give bettors an early read on where Carolina stands, and help shape the Panthers’ Super Bowl odds for 2025.
