Anyone betting on the same driver to win every week in the NASCAR Cup Series will likely need both patience and luck to get a positive return on their money.

BetCarolina.com got historical odds from BetMGM North Carolina Sportsbook (via SportsOddsHistory.com) for each NASCAR race this season. We then calculated how much you would’ve won or lost if you bet $10 on each of several prominent NASCAR drivers in all 12 Cup Series races so far this season.

Surprising Winners Pay Out Well

Josh Berry’s victory on March 16 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway was his first in the NASCAR Cup Series and the first for the Wood Brothers’ famed No. 21 car since last year, when Harrison Burton was driving it.

Berry has three top-10 finishes this season so the top-10 wagering prop is iffy for him – however, his lone win at +10000 odds would have put any bettor at North Carolina sports betting sites well ahead for the whole season even if that was the only $10 bet to pay out.

Similarly, Austin Cindric paid out to win on April 27 at Talladega at +1600 odds, putting his value ahead of the rest of the pack.

Why Hasn’t Betting On Kyle Larson Been More Profitable?

Kyle Larson has three victories this season in the Cup Series. But as you can see, a bettor putting $10 on him to win every week would barely be ahead.

Why? Simple: Larson is among the NASCAR betting favorites every week, if not the favorite. For instance, in last week’s race at Kansas, Larson led 221 out of 267 laps including the final 55 circuits in a dominant victory. He paid off his backers, but not a ton, because Larson went off as the favorite at +350 odds.

One intriguing wrinkle for Larson in the next couple of weeks is that he’ll be splitting his time between NASCAR and IndyCar as he prepares to try “The Double” by running the Indianapolis 500 in the daytime and Charlotte’s Coca-Cola 600 at night. He attempted The Double last year, but rain at both sites ruined his chances of racing 1,100 miles in two totally different race cars in one day.
