Now that the 45th edition of the biennial Ryder Cup tournament between the United States and Europe has come and gone across North Carolina sports betting, with the fellas from the EU pulling off a comfortable, 15-13, win over the ‘Yanks’, it’s worth wondering who will lead the American team when the event returns in two years.
Whether this year’s captain (Keegan Bradley) returns or not is to be determined. In the meantime, the team at BetCarolina.com broke down the odds on who will lead the U.S. team when the 46th Ryder Cup goes down at Adare Manor in Limerick, Ireland in 2027, with this year’s captain holding commanding odds of running it back in the Emerald Isle.

Who Leads The U.S. in 2027?
While Luke Donald became the first team captain of either side to repeat since Bernard Gallacher between 1993 and 1997 for the European team, the U.S. has not seen the same man lead the team in successive events since Ben Hogan did in 1947 and 1949.
When Bradley was named the U.S. captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup way back in July of 2024, he became the youngest person to do so since Arnold Palmer in 1963, which begs the question of whether the powers at be will run it back, given how poorly the Americans performed on their home soil this past weekend.
For now, given Bradley’s youth and the surge that the ‘Yanks’ showed Sunday singles at Bethpage Black, we’re betting on Bradley to be the man in charge come 2027, with -150 (or 60%) odds that he gets another crack at leading the Ryder Cup team in Ireland.
Should the Americans opt for a change in leadership come 2027, keep an eye on a host of veterans that were vice captains in 2025, such as Webb Simpson (+1250), Brandt Snedeker (+1400) and Kevin Kisner (+2500), while other potential replacements include names like Jim Furyk (+1400), Tiger Woods (+2000) and Steve Stricker (+2500).
A Look At The Candidates
While Bradley is the most obvious pick to lead the Americans in two years, given his experience in the role, the U.S. could opt to run it back with a guy that’s been in the role before, with Stricker serving as the captain for the country back in 2021, when the U.S. knocked off Europe, 19-9, at Whistling Straits.
Furyk is another potential repeat candidate, with the Wisconsin native having led the Americans in 2018, when the U.S. lost to Europe, 17.5-10.5, in France, while Simpson, Snedeker, Woods and Kisner would all be potential first-time Ryder Cup captains come 2027 (Snedeker will lead the U.S. in the Presidents Cup in 2026).
Picking a name like Woods would certainly follow the mold of past events, as the greatest American golfers have all taken turns as Ryder Cup captains, with Jack Nicklaus doing so in 1983 and 1987, while Tom Watson led the U.S. in 1993 and 2014 and Arnold Palmer did so in 1963 and 1975. Of the potential Ryder Cup captains for the Americans in 2027, Woods has the most PGA Tour wins (by far), with 82 (ranking in a tie with Sam Snead for the most all time), while the rest of the men on our 2027 odds board have 49 tour wins combined, with Furyk (17) and Stricker (12) being the only others with double-digit victories on the circuit.
Whichever man gets tabbed to lead the Americans in Ireland come 2027 will be tasked with leading the country to its first overseas Ryder Cup win since 1993, when the ‘Yanks’ pulled off a 15-13 upset at The Belfry under Watson’s watch.
